Spaghetti … Nana’s tasty bolognese is a great staple for dinner.

I LOVE it when my mum comes to stay. I love it even more when she cooks us dinner and I don’t have to think about a thing.

My mum and sister came to visit us last week and on their last night here my mum made this delicious bolognese.

It’s so simple and easy and is packed full of nutrients for growing little tummies.

Plus it will keep you warm on those cold winter nights.

Delish … the beef is so tender and the plums give the perfect sweetness.

I love fresh, in-season produce. Simply nothing beats cooking with ingredients that have come straight off a farm.

I was lucky enough recently to be given a bunch of fresh plums from one of my mothers group friends whose family has an orchard.

Apart from simply tasting amazing, plums are a really rich source of antioxidants. Plums are also super high in vitamin C and help the body to absorb iron, which makes them perfectly paired with beef. They are also high in vitamin A, fibre and potassium.

Meaty fingers in tomato sauce with pasta

Tasty … these are finger lickin’ good.

Molly isn’t the only one in our household that absolutely adores this dish. My husband gobbles it up in a flash and almost always asks for seconds.

It’s designed as a finger food alternative to meatballs. Molly has been fiercely independent when it comes to feeding herself right from the start so I came up with the idea for these when I was searching for easy finger foods to make.

The sauce is super tasty and quick to prepare and the fingers are soft enough that even without teeth Molly was able to suck away on them and still get off bits of meat. They also have hidden veggies in the fingers which is always a winner when it comes to kids.
